Overview

Several Major Exploration Projects in the Golden Triangle Mineral District, British Columbia

Northwestern British Columbia hosts three of Canada's most significant mineral deposits:

  1. the former Eskay Creek Au-Ag Mine (formerly Barrick, now Skeena Resources)
  2. Newmont and Teck Resources' massive copper-gold-silver Galore Creek Project (now (2021) in the pre-feasibility study stage and has a M&I resource of 9.3 million ounces of gold, 150 million ounces of silver and 5.1 million tonnes of copper), and
  3. Pretium Resources Brucejack gold mine.

Since late 2004, Romios Gold Resources Inc. has systematically acquired an extensive land position between Galore Creek and Eskay Creek covering 79,789 ha. Romios' claims contain many exposures of surface mineralization; continued exploration and development of the mineral potential on these lands has led to the discovery of several mineralized zones and a substantial rise in asset value.

Our most advanced projects include Newmont Lake & Trek, with developing exploration targets at JW, Andrei, and Royce-Porc. The Newmont Lake claim block is now under option to Enduro Metals who have undertaken large exploration programs each summer since 2018 with encouraging results. If Enduro fulfills the terms of the agreement, Romios will retain a 2% NSR on the claims in addition to receiving a series of large payments in cash and Enduro shares.

Romios’ own work in the Golden Triangle is currently focussed primarily on the Trek claims. In addition to the considerable potential to expand the existing Cu-Au-Ag resource at the North Zone, well developed porphyry-style alteration and related skarn-type veining were found on the Trek South claims in 2019-2020 in an area only recently exposed by the melting of snow and ice fields. A major exploration program is planned here in 2021. The Trek claims are crossed by the cleared roadway from Highway 37 to the Galore Creek mine site and are only a few km from the proposed GCMC mill site. In addition to the Trek porphyry prospects, Romios owns the JW porphyry prospect located 6 km NW of Galore Creek, as well as several VMS prospects in this immediate area. JW covers an ~1 km wide granitoid intrusion with exposed and drill intersected porphyry style alteration and mineralization along its western and southern edges. The core of this mineralized intrusion is also a prime target for further exploration.

Future Galore Creek Area Work Programs

  • Trek Property:
    • 1) Mapping, geophysics (IP and hyperspectral surveys) and diamond drilling of the new targets on Trek South
    • 2) North Zone NI 43-101 resource definition
    • 3) Evaluation of several other overlooked anomalous features on these claims.
  • JW Claims:  Geological mapping and sampling, geophysics (IP and hyperspectral surveys) and diamond drilling of any targets developed in the central part of the intrusion.
  • Evaluation of VMS and gold targets on Andrei, Royce-Porc, SW and other Romios claim blocks.
