Assays As High As 8.59% Copper & 16.5 G/T Gold Encountered
Romios is pleased to announce the discovery of a new zone of copper-gold mineralization on its Newmont Lake property in the Galore Creek area of northwestern British Columbia. This new zone, referred to as the B&D Zone, occurs within a highly fractured feldspar porphyry dike and where exposed, ranges from 1.5 to 2.0 meters in width and extends for a distance of over 30 meters along strike before it is obscured by overburden.
A chip sample across the zone assayed 8.59% copper, 16.5 g/ton gold, 82.5 g/ton silver, and 0.052% molybdenum. A second chip sample across the zone assayed 3.01% copper, 5.19 g/ton gold, 36.5 g/ton silver, and 0.03% molybdenum. A grab sample assayed 1.53% copper, 3.12 g/ton gold, 15.6 g/ton silver, and 0.003% molybdenum.
The B&D Zone is located approximately 500 meters northwest of Romios' Ken Zone, a copper-magnetite skarn, along the sheared margins of the porphyry dike-volcanic contact where the dike has been altered partly to clay minerals. The mineralization is characterized by veinlets and disseminated blebs of chalcopyrite and pyrite associated with platy specular hematite. Malachite staining with limonite stringers is abundant in outcrop.
Two holes have been drilled through this new zone and each hole intersected intervals of approximately 2 meters of mineralization. The core from these holes has been logged, sampled and submitted to ALS Chemex for chemical analyses. The results of the analyses will be reported once they have been received and evaluated by Romios' technical team.
Garth Kirkham, B.Sc., P.Geo., a director of Romios, is the Qualified Person for this project.
