Press Releases

Toronto, October 1, 2008 - Romios Gold Resources Inc. (TSX-V: RG) is pleased to hear that Premier Gordon Campbell, and the Province of British Columbia have announced to immediately start the environmental assessment process and First Nations Consultation on the Northwest Transmission Line (NTL) along Highway 37.

Tom Drivas, President of Romios Gold stated, "We are encouraged by the British Columbia Government's initiative to extend the power line in the Galore Creek area. Romios Gold has several projects in the Galore Creek area and has recently completed a $5 million exploration program at its Newmont Lake and Trek properties. The development of the power line would provide the infrastructure required to further the economic potential of these projects."

Premier Campbell announced that $10 million of new funding would be injected into the project, and this will come after an initial $10 million was spent on environmental work and First Nations consulting. This is the first step towards building the 287 Kilovolt Northwest Transmission Line that will extend 335 km from Terrace to the Dease Lake Area.

The development of the NTL has the potential to attract billions of dollars of investment, create thousands of new jobs, and reduce reliance on diesel-electric generation.
