TORONTO, ONTARIO - April 12, 2007 - Romios Gold Resources Inc. ("Romios" or "the Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:RG)(OTCBB:RMIOF)(FRANKFURT:D4R) is pleased to announce it has appointed Michael Smith as a consultant and senior geologist to the Corporation. Mr. Smith will work closely with the existing technical team to assist with the development and execution of the Corporation's exploration programs. Based in Toronto, Mr. Smith will liaise and work in tandem with the Directors and Management of Romios, reporting to the President. 

Mr. Smith is an experienced exploration geologist with multi country experience, and has had a career that spans over 40 years in the minerals exploration field. He has consulted for, or was on staff of numerous corporations, with projects throughout the Americas.

Romios has entered into a twelve month consulting agreement with Michael Smith to provide the Corporation with geological services. He will serve as an independent contractor and Senior Geologist on the Corporation's Galore Area Project, northwestern British Columbia.

In commenting on the appointment, Tom Drivas, the President of Romios Gold Resources Inc. said that "Romios Gold is undertaking a $2.8 million drilling and exploration program this summer on Romios' Galore Area Project. We are very pleased that this work will be supervised by Michael Smith, a highly qualified geologist with 40 years experience." 

In joining Romios Gold, Smith said, "I'm excited to be joining a technical team with the expertise of Romios' directors and management. The Galore Area Project in British Columbia is a large one and holds the promise of being a company builder."
